Sizes the network recommends
Instagram keeps a photo at full quality when it is 1080 px wide and between 1.91:1 (wide) and 3:4 (tall). Anything outside that shape is cropped by Instagram. Meta lists 1440 × 2560 (9:16) for Stories.

Threads publishes limits rather than one size: 320 to 1440 px wide, no wider than 10:1, JPEG or PNG up to 8 MB. These sizes use the full 1440 px width.

We found no size Bluesky recommends. A post holds up to 4 images, and each must stay under the file limit shown here, so the download is compressed until it fits.

No. The photo is read and resized by your own browser, and the files you download are made on your device. Only the list of sizes comes from our server.
Where do these sizes come from?
From each network's own help or specification pages, linked under every table with the date we last checked them. Where a network publishes only limits (such as a width range), the sizes are marked as fitting those limits rather than recommended by the network.
What is the difference between "Fill & crop" and "Fit whole photo"?
Fill & crop covers the whole size with your photo and trims what does not fit, keeping the point you clicked in view. Fit whole photo keeps every part of the photo and fills the empty space with a border colour you choose.
Is it free? Do I need an account?
It is free, with no account, no limit on photos and no watermark.

Social Publish checks every photo against each network before it posts, then publishes or schedules it to all your networks in one click.
