Pinterest needs a business account and at least one board — a pin has to go somewhere.

Connect Pinterest

A window opens on the network's own site. You sign in there and approve access — nothing to copy or paste.

Before you start

  • A Pinterest business account. Converting a personal account is free and takes a minute.
  • At least one board on that account.

Step by step

  1. 1
    Convert to a business account

On Pinterest: your profile menu, then Convert to business, or create a new business account. Publishing tools cannot use a personal account.

  2. 2
    Create a board

Make at least one board. When you compose a post you choose which board the pin goes to, so an account with no boards cannot publish.

  3. 3
    Open Accounts

In Social Publish, go to Accounts, press Connect Account, and choose Pinterest.

  4. 4
    Sign in and allow

Approve access to your boards and pins.

  5. 5
Pick a board when you post

Pinterest appears in the composer with a board selector. The board list is fetched live from your account.

If something goes wrong

The board list is empty.

The account has no boards, or the board was created after connecting. Create a board on Pinterest, then reload the composer.

A pin fails with an image error.

Pinterest downloads the image from a link we give it, and rejects links it considers too long or unreachable. Try a smaller image, or re-upload it.
